FAQ-GENERAL
Q: What is a Zine?A: A fan-zine (derived from the words fan and magazine) in this case, is a collaboration of multiple individuals working to non-officially publish artwork in the style of a magazine.☆Q: What is a Kirby gijinka?A: Gijinka is when a non-human character, thing, or idea that has been turned into a human or humanoid in artwork, in this case being the Kirby characters. Gikabi comes from the combination of gijinka and Kābī, the japanese pronunciation of Kirby.☆Q: What will this Zine be about? What’s the theme?A: This will be a rainbow-themed PG-13 Kirby gijinka zine featuring full illustrations/stories! We will assign each participant a color, media includes:
- 2D art
- Cosplay
- Arts & Crafts
These depend on the results of the interest check☆Q: Where am I able to get a hold of the Zine?A: We will upload it digitally to Gumroad for free in a PDF format!☆Q: Are OCs allowed?A: No, we are looking for gijinkas attached to canon Kirby mainline/spin-off characters, specifically from the games and anime.☆Q: Is shipping allowed?A: No, sorry.
FAQ-Applicants
Q: What are the requirements for applying?A: You must be 17 or older to apply, as well to have a gallery of art to show us.☆Q: What are the requirements for the portfolio?A: Minimum of three fully finished pictures must be included. Displaying Kirby art in your portfolio is not obligatory, but we highly recommend you show your Kirby gijinka designs/art if you have any. There also must not be NSFW in it.
In case of cosplay or/and art and crafts, you should give us at least 3 photos of it☆Q: What do I do if I don’t have a portfolio?A: Either send us your social media gallery (And we mean a clean one, not filled with reaction images) or upload your work to a Google Drive and send us a link, make sure we can access it. We will not be accepting anything you have to download such as .zip files.☆Q: Do I need to have an already designed Kirby gijinka to apply?A: Not at all! As long as you’re willing to make a design for the character we assign you, anyone is welcome! You must put your own character designs in the portfolio for us to see your abilities though.☆Q: Is fanfiction allowed?A: Not on this one, but we are considering for future zines!.☆Q: If I have more questions, where should I ask them?A: Email us at ([email protected]) and/or send us a dm/ask on Tumblr/Twitter
